來(lái)聽今天的講解:

 
A: OK, Tini, you were saying that you enjoy being a student.
 
蒂尼,你說(shuō)過(guò)你喜歡做學(xué)生。
 
B: Yes.
 
對(duì)。
 
A: So, I'm a teacher. I have a couple of questions for you.
 
我是名老師。我有幾個(gè)問(wèn)題要問(wèn)你。
 
B: Sure.
 
好的。
 
A: First one, what type of teacher do you like?
 
第一個(gè)問(wèn)題,你喜歡哪種老師?
 
B: What type of teacher? Well, I would prefer a teacher who has like very high standards towards their students, but at the same time, very understanding.
 
哪種老師?我比較喜歡既對(duì)學(xué)生嚴(yán)格要求又可以理解學(xué)生的老師。
 
A: Well, that's interesting. So, by high standards, do you mean that they're very demanding?
 
這很有意思。高標(biāo)準(zhǔn),你是指嚴(yán)格要求嗎?
 
B: Yes.
 
對(duì)。
 
A: So, you think that the teacher should give difficult assignments and give lots of homework?
 
你認(rèn)為老師應(yīng)該給學(xué)生布置困難的任務(wù)和大量作業(yè)嗎?
 
B: Well, demanding in the sense that probably because they know that the students can do more than, is more able, is able to do more but what they can do right at the moment, and probably in that way the teacher can, how do you say, develop the students more.
 
嚴(yán)格要求的意義在于,老師知道學(xué)生可以做更多,學(xué)生可以做到的比他們正在做的要多,這樣一來(lái),老師就可以開發(fā)學(xué)生的更多能力。
 
A: Interesting. OK, so that's the most important thing is the teacher is somewhat demanding and sets high expectations.
 
有意思。最重要的是老師要嚴(yán)格要求,設(shè)定高標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。
 
B: Well, I like teachers who are demanding but of course I give very much respect to teachers who actually care about their students and try to understand their students.
 
我喜歡嚴(yán)格要求學(xué)生的老師,同時(shí)我也非常尊敬那種關(guān)心學(xué)生、理解學(xué)生的老師。
 
A: Right, so they have empathy and understanding.
 
好,就是說(shuō)老師要有同理心,理解學(xué)生。
 
B: Yes.
 
對(duì)。
 
A: Well, what about qualities you don't like in a teacher?
 
那你不喜歡老師的什么品質(zhì)?
 
B: Qualities I don't like in a teacher? Favorites.
 
我不喜歡老師的品質(zhì)?寵愛。
 
A: Favorites.
 
寵愛。
 
B: Favorites. You know, teacher's pet.
 
寵愛,就是老師的寵兒。
 
A: Right, can you explain teacher's pet?
 
好,你能解釋一下什么是老師的寵兒?jiǎn)幔?br />  
B: Teacher's pet is that, you know, sometimes teachers like one student more than the other students, and then so they give like, I don't know, like more attention to that student, and then they are nicer to that student, or. Yes, sometimes gives better grades. I don't know.
 
老師的寵兒,你知道有時(shí)候老師會(huì)特別喜歡一個(gè)學(xué)生,他們會(huì)特別關(guān)注他們喜歡的學(xué)生,對(duì)喜歡的學(xué)生比對(duì)其他學(xué)生好。甚至有時(shí)可能會(huì)給他們喜歡的學(xué)生更高的分?jǐn)?shù)??赡軙?huì)這樣。
 
A: Do you think that maybe that's just human nature, that all teachers have favorites, or do you think some teachers, no matter what, treat everybody equally?
 
你認(rèn)為會(huì)不會(huì)是因?yàn)槿祟惖奶煨?,所有老師都有寵愛的學(xué)生,還是說(shuō)會(huì)有些老師對(duì)所有學(xué)生一視同仁?
 
B: Well, I think that it also deals with experience, and you know, the period of time you are engaged teaching activities. I think, probably, initially, like, you know, like teacher, initially are human nature, we all have favorites, like we all have like people who we want to be around with and people who don't want to be around with. That is human nature, I think, but then like, probably, as time goes by, and as experience is gained, I think that, like if I'm a teacher, I think I will gain a more, like objective perspective towards the student and teaching I guess.
 
我覺得和經(jīng)驗(yàn)有關(guān),就是從事教師工作的時(shí)間。可能剛當(dāng)上老師時(shí),因?yàn)槿祟惖奶煨?,我們都?huì)有特別喜歡的人,會(huì)有想相處和不想相處的人。這是人類的天性,不過(guò)之后,隨著時(shí)間的流逝和經(jīng)驗(yàn)的積累,我想如果我是老師,那我會(huì)更客觀地去看待學(xué)生和教學(xué)。
