A: Who's your favourite band?

B: I would have to say The Bead es. Have you heard of them?

A: Who hasn't? They were the original boy band weren't they?

B: That's right. Four young men from Liverpool caused a sensation when they played in their local club called the Caved. They created Beatlemania where girl fans went wild and would shout and scream.

A: What was so special about them?

B: They wore suits and had long hair and Paul , their lead singer was so handsome. But mainly it was their music.

A: So which of their albums would you suggest I listen to first?

B: You could try their latest album which was released in December 2006. It's called Love and is a reworking of some of their greatest hits

A: Love seems to be what their music is all about. Did you know that every song from their first 5 albums was about love?

B: I know their first UK single was Love Me Do released in October 1962 so that does not surprise me.

B:I would have to say Rubber Sor41. I could listen to that all day. The song writing copartnership of Lennon and McCarley was the most successful in the world.

A: Yet they never wrote their songs together. One way to tell who wrote a song is to listen to who the main singer is.

B: They were the most successful band in the world from 1963 until 1970 when Paul McCartney left the band to pursue his own musical career.

A: It was really tragic the way John Lennon died, wasn't it?

B: Yes. He was signing autographs when a fan shot him 5 times in 1980. There's a memorial to him outside his home in New York.

A: And then George Harrison died of cancer and now there are only two Beatles left.

B: Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney. Paul's wife Linda died of cancer too. He remarried unfortunately that marriage ended after lurid tales of his wife's behaviour in her younger days emerged in the press.
