　　“泥人張”是中國北方流傳的一種民間彩塑，深得當(dāng)?shù)匕傩障矏邸Ｋ鼊?chuàng)始于清代(the Qing Dynasty)末年，至今已有180多年的歷史。“泥人張”的創(chuàng)始人叫張明山，生于天津，家境貧寒，從小跟父親以捏泥人(clay figure)為業(yè)。張明山的泥人，有民間故事中的人物，也有小說、戲曲中的角色，有現(xiàn)實生活中的勞動人民，有正面人物，還有反面人物。因此，他的作品具有濃厚的趣味性。

　　The “Clay Figure Zhang” is a kind of folk paintedsculpture which is popular in Northern China, anddeeply appreciated by local people. Its appearancecan be dated back to late Qing Dynasty, having ahistory of more than 180 years until now. The “Clay Figure Zhang” was founded by ZhangMingshan, who was born in Tianjin. He had been living his life by making clay figures with hisfather since childhood because of the poverty of his family. Those figures can be positive or negative. Therefore, his works areof great interestingness.
