The temple fair is a social activity in the Chinese folk. It is usually held in a temple or in the open place near the temple during festivals or some specified days. Some temple fairs are only held during the Spring Festival. Although temple fairs in different places are held in different time, their basic contents are similar. During the time of temple fairs, farmers and traders come from all directions,taking with their own agricultural products for transactions. Folk artists set up the stages for performing singing, dancing, story telling, etc. Ordinary people happily come to watch performances and buy snacks or other interesting goods.
廟會(the temple fair)是中國民間的一種社會活動,通常在節(jié)日或某些特定的日子里,在寺廟里或寺廟附近的空曠之處舉辦。有的則只在春節(jié)期間舉辦。盡管在不同的地方舉辦的廟會時間不同,但其基本內(nèi)容是相似的。在廟會期間,來自四面八方的農(nóng)民和商人都帶著自己的農(nóng)產(chǎn)品來進行交易。民間藝術(shù)家搭起舞臺,表演唱歌、跳舞、講故事等。老百姓高高興興地來觀看表演,買小吃或其他有趣的物品。
