廟會(temple fair)是中國的一種傳統(tǒng)民俗活動。有傳說認為,廟會源于古人祭祀土地神(village god),后來漸漸演變成商品交易市場和文化表演場所。廟會通常在廟里或寺廟附近的露天場地舉行,時間常在節(jié)日或特定的日子。有些廟會只在春節(jié)舉行。盡管不同地區(qū)的廟會時間不同,但是內(nèi)容相似。農(nóng)民和商人出售自己的農(nóng)產(chǎn)品、玉器、花鳥魚蟲等;工匠擺攤展示并出售手工藝品;民間藝術(shù)家搭建舞臺表演歌舞;普通民眾來廟會購買商品、觀看表演以及品嘗特色小吃。
