A two-headed spotted turtle hatchling was found on Hilton Head Island, SC, on Wednesday, Fox 46 Charlotte reports.

據(jù)媒體報道，周三，美國南卡羅來納州希爾頓黑德島發(fā)現(xiàn)一只雙頭斑紋海龜幼崽。

Nonprofit Sea Turtle Patrol Hilton Head Island posted the adorable picture to Facebook Wednesday, adding in the caption that although the mutation is more common in reptiles, it’s still very rare.

周三，非營利組織“海龜巡邏希爾頓海德島”在臉書上發(fā)布了這張可愛的照片，并在標題中補充說，雖然這種變異在爬行動物中更為常見，但仍然非常罕見。

“We thought we had seen it all during this very busy season on Sea Turtle Patrol! Yesterday on patrol during a nest inventory this bicephalic hatchling was discovered,” Sea Turtle Patrol wrote.

“我們以為在這個海龜巡邏的旺季我們已經(jīng)看到了這一切!昨天，在一次巢穴調(diào)查中，竟發(fā)現(xiàn)了這只雙頭幼崽。”海龜巡邏隊寫道。

The organization added that the two-headed baby sea turtle was found during nest inventory. The turtles, who are named Squirt and Crush, were released back into the ocean.

該組織補充說，這只雙頭小海龜是在清點巢穴時發(fā)現(xiàn)的。這只被命名為Squirt和Crush的海龜最后被放回了大海。

Sea turtle hatching season is in full swing and experts warn that artificial lighting, such as those from home lights, smartphones and cameras, pose a great risk to the species.
