萬圣節(jié)快樂：NASA發(fā)布了一張看起來像南瓜燈的太陽照

If you thought supermoons and blood moons were scary, wait until you see what the sun is capable of.

如果你認為超級月亮和血月很可怕，那么是時候來看看太陽的能力了。

NASA shared a photo on Monday (local time) of the sun looking like a flaming jack-o'-lantern’s face.

美國國家航空航天局在當?shù)貢r間周一分享了一張照片，照片中太陽看起來像一個燃燒的南瓜燈。

The image was taken on October 8, 2014 by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, who watch the sun at all times from its orbit in space.

這張照片拍攝于2014年10月8日，由美國國家航空航天局的太陽動力學觀測站拍攝，該觀測站一直在太空軌道上觀測太陽。

The face appears because those active regions of the sun emit more light and energy.

這張臉之所以出現(xiàn)，是因為太陽的那些活躍區(qū)域發(fā)出更多的光和能量。

"They are markers of an intense and complex set of magnetic fields hovering in the sun’s atmosphere, the corona," NASA said.

美國航天局說：“它們是一組強烈而復雜的磁場的標志，這些磁場盤旋在太陽的大氣層——也就是日冕中。”

"This image blends together two sets of extreme ultraviolet wavelengths at 171 and 193 Ångströms, typically colorized in gold and yellow, to create a particularly Halloween-like appearance."

“這張照片融合了兩組極端紫外線波長，分別為171和193_ngstr_ms，典型的顏色是金色和黃色，營造出一種萬圣節(jié)般的特殊外觀。”
