Artist Pablo Rochat designed stickers that look like AirPods and plastered them all over San Francisco, Mashable reports.

As a prank, he stuck the realistic imitations of Apple’s pricey headphones ($159 and up) to sidewalks, manhole covers and lampposts to see what would happen.

Sure enough, Rochat has witnessed AirPod owners — who have reported fears and paranoia related to keeping track of the tiny, wireless earbuds — stop to pick up what they believe is a lost or dropped one. Then they realize it’s a two-dimensional fake.

He posted about the practical joke on Twitter Sunday, where commenters are begging for reaction videos of the optical illusion’s unsuspecting victims.
