a) Well, let me think. My twenty-first birthday was a happy event in my life.

a) In terms of when and where it happened,
b) it was almost three years ago, while I was studying in Australia.
There are several reasons as for why I would like to talk specifically about this birthday. Allow me to explain by mentioning some of them briefly.
It was a happy and special event to me for several reasons.

a) Firstly many of my friends were present.
b) These included some new Australian friends, as well as my best friend who was visiting me at the time

a) Furthermore, I received many useful presents.
b) For example, my girlfriend gave me a scarf, which she had knitted specially for me.

a) Lastly and the most important is the fact that I then officially became an adult.
b) I realized that I now had the responsibility to shape the rest of my life on my own.
So you can see, I shall remember my twenty-first birthday for as long as I live.
