【商務(wù)熱詞】在榜“停留”

娛樂界總是風(fēng)云變幻，一首歌剛出來的時候可能還排不進前十，但是上榜三周后有可能會擠進前三，甚至可能在下一周還能保持前三名的好成績，但是再往后能否繼續(xù)停留就很難說了，因為總是有新的更好聽的歌在不斷涌現(xiàn)出來。那么在榜單上"停留"要如何用英語表達呢?

The lone top-fiveholdover from last week was Lionsgate's "Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself". It has dropped to third place with 10 million dollars against a 57 percent drop and now stands at 38 million dollars in total domestic box office.

上周的前五名中唯一一部仍然在榜停留的電影是獅門影業(yè)公司的《我可以自己瘋》。本周，它以1000萬美元的票房下滑至第三位，票房成績下降了57%，迄今為止國內(nèi)總票房為3800萬美元。

在上面的報道中，holdover就是(在榜單上)"繼續(xù)保持紀錄或占據(jù)某一位置(的事物)"，很多娛樂媒體都表達為"在榜停留(曲目、電影或?qū)］?"。Holdover也可指"(任期滿后)留任的官員"。例如：He is a holdover from the last Administration. 另外，電影的"續(xù)映"也可以用holdover來表示。

Holdover的動詞形式是hold over，意思是"留任"，即remain in office或retain a post。例如： The election was postponed and he held his office over.

如果電影或者專輯在榜單(list)上"蟬聯(lián)"某個榜位就可以表達為continue to hold a post or title。
