雅思口語(yǔ)考試中的一些習(xí)慣用語(yǔ)(1)

　　一：與時(shí)間相關(guān)的習(xí)語(yǔ)

　　1. Put the clock back

　　[字面意思]：把鐘表指針向后撥。

　　[實(shí)際意思] 指行為或觀念跟不上時(shí)代;按陳舊的規(guī)矩辦事;老腦筋。

　　E.g.: You must give university students more freedom. Don’t try to prevent them from falling in love before graduation. You can’t put the clock back!

　　原來這樣簡(jiǎn)單的詞句，也能表達(dá)如此確切的意思!

　　2. Work against the clock

　　[字面意思]：與鐘表的走動(dòng)比賽。

　　[實(shí)際意思] 指的是抓緊時(shí)間工作，強(qiáng)調(diào)不停頓哦~

　　E.g.: I have to work against the clock to finish my thesis before the holiday finishes. Otherwise my supervisor will not be happy with me.

　　我們辛勤的烤鴨們還可以這樣說哦：I have to work against the clock to pass the IELTS exam. 哈哈，是不是很準(zhǔn)確的表達(dá)了烤鴨考前的心情!

　　3. Go like clockwork

　　[字面意思]：像鐘表的機(jī)械裝置一樣運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)。

　　[實(shí)際意思] 指計(jì)劃、安排、工程或項(xiàng)目等進(jìn)展順利，強(qiáng)調(diào)有條不紊，沒有麻煩。它還有另一種說法：Run like clockwork.

　　E.g.: The president is very happy that all our arrangements for the project are going like clockwork. And I am sure we can finish the project in time.

　　如果part2的話題考到了future plan, something you saved money for這種和計(jì)劃相關(guān)的話題，烤鴨們是可以把go like clockwork運(yùn)用上去的，表達(dá)我們的計(jì)劃按部就班，進(jìn)展的非常順利~

　　4. After hours

　　[字面意思]：鐘點(diǎn)之后。

　　[實(shí)際意思] 在規(guī)定的下班時(shí)間以后，非營(yíng)業(yè)時(shí)間。

　　E.g.: Public houses must not stay open after hours, for if they do, they will have to face sanctions imposed by the government.

　　這個(gè)詞其實(shí)在我們平常的生活中非常常見，比如After hours GP指的是非營(yíng)業(yè)時(shí)間的GP醫(yī)生~

　　5. This minute

　　[字面意思]：這分鐘。

　　[實(shí)際意思] 馬上，立刻，立即。

　　E.g.: What a mess you have made! Your room is like a pigsty! I want you to clean your room this minute!

　　這應(yīng)該是每一個(gè)媽媽都會(huì)說的話~ 意思是你立刻把你的房間給我收拾干凈~~~ This minute和right now是一個(gè)意思哦。

　　二：與顏色相關(guān)的習(xí)語(yǔ)

　　6. In black and white

　　[字面意思]：以黑白形式。

　　[實(shí)際意思] 寫在紙上;以書面形式(常指合同或協(xié)議等法律文件);白紙黑字。

　　E.g.: Business is business; I prefer to have our agreement in black and white.

　　有木有童鞋理解成為了打印的時(shí)候要黑白打印呢? Anyway, 以后童鞋們簽訂合同的時(shí)候不用愁啦!~ 直接說: I prefer to have our agreement in black and white.就ok啦~

　　7. Out of the blue

　　[字面意思]：來自藍(lán)天;或出自大海。

　　[實(shí)際意思] 突然;沒有料到。常跟動(dòng)詞come 連用。

　　E.g.: The news of his marriage came completely out of the blue. It was only last month that we learnt that he had broken with his girl friend.

　　在口語(yǔ)考試中，如果能用一個(gè)come out of blue代替unexpectedly或者suddenly是絕對(duì)能讓考官眼前一亮的哦~

　　8. Come out with flying colors

　　[字面意思]：出來時(shí)彩旗招展。

　　[實(shí)際意思] 非常成功，順利地度過了難關(guān)。變形體：Come off with flying colors. 說明：指戰(zhàn)艦凱旋歸來駛進(jìn)港口時(shí)彩旗迎風(fēng)招展的場(chǎng)景。

　　E.g.: She sat for the IELTS test and came out with flying colors.

　　沒錯(cuò)，說的就是你!~ 雅思考過了吼 ~~

　　9.Go into the red

　　Get out of the red

　　[字面意思]：進(jìn)入紅色/走出紅色

　　[實(shí)際意思] 負(fù)債，多指負(fù)債貸款/償清債務(wù)

　　E.g.: The bank manager usually does not allow students to go into the red.

　　E.g.: The Company only needs 500, 000 dollars to get out of the red.

　　這里的red指的是債務(wù)~ 童鞋們是不是又多了一個(gè)替換詞呢~ 以后pay off the debt可以換成get out of the red啦~

　　10. Horse of a different color

　　[字面意思]：顏色不同的馬。

　　[實(shí)際意思] 完全是另一碼事，另外一回事。變形體: horse of another color(另一種顏色的馬)。

　　E.g.: Gambling is not the same as investing in the shares market. It is a horse of a different color.

　　賭博和炒股不一樣，它完全是另外一回事~ 意思與another matter相同
