  1.慣用雅思口語句子:

  The battery of my mobile phone is dead.

  我的手機(jī)電池沒電了。

  I've got a flat battery.

  電池沒電了。

  I need to change the battery.

  我得換塊電池。

  I didn't take the spare battery with me.

  我沒帶備用電池。

  battery n. 電池

  mobile a. 可移動的

  flat a. 沒電的(dead也可以表此意)

  mobile phone = mobile“手機(jī)”

  My phone is running out of battery.

  我的電話快沒電了。

  My mobile has very low battery.

  我手機(jī)的電量很低了。

  run out of“用光,耗盡”

  I forgot to recharge the battery.

  我忘了給電池充電了。

  I have to recharge the battery.

  我得給電池充電。

  forget v.忘記(其過去式為forgot,過去分詞為forgotten)

  recharge v.& n. 再充電,再充值

  forget to do容易與forget doing混淆,前者表示“忘記去做某事(實際上沒做)”,后者表示“忘記做過了某事(實際上做了)”。

  I forgot to take the mobile charger.

  我忘記帶手機(jī)充電器了。

  I forgot to put it in the charger.

  我忘記插上充電器了。

  charger n. 充電器

  I had my cell phone power off.

  我把手機(jī)給關(guān)了。

  My cell was power off.

  我的手機(jī)關(guān)機(jī)了。

  cell phone = cellphone = cell“手機(jī)”

  There is no signal.

  沒有信號。

  There is no signal in this area.

  這一地區(qū)沒有信號。

  The signal is not strong.

  available a. 可接通的,可獲得的

  = Your number is not in service.

  service n. 服務(wù)

  I forgot your number.

  我忘記你的號碼了。

  I lost your number.

  我把你的電話號碼弄丟了。

  I couldn't get through.

  = I'm not getting through.

  我打不通。

  get through“打通(電話),接通(電話)”

  雖然上述兩句的中文譯文一樣,但由于所用時態(tài)不同,所以兩句話的含義也有所差別:第一句是指“過去的某個時間沒有打通”,第二句是指“現(xiàn)在打不通”。

  I don't know how to use a calling card.

  我不會用電話卡。

  = The number is busy.

  = The line is engaged.

  = My phone does not work.

  = There's something wrong with my phone.

  out of order“(機(jī)器)出故障,失靈”

  There is a lot of noise.

  有干擾噪音。

  I think we have a bad connection.

  我覺得我們的線路連接情況很差。

  I think we've got a bad line.

  connection n. 連接,線路

  It sounds like a problem with our lines.

  聽上去我們的線路有問題。

  It sounds like a problem in your house wiring.

  聽上去是你們家線路有問題。

  You really should change to a new telephone.

  你真應(yīng)該換—部新電話機(jī)。

  You should have changed your phone a long time ago.

  你早就應(yīng)該把這部電話換了。

  You should throw away this phone.

  你應(yīng)該把這部電話扔了。

  He has changed his number.

  = His number has been changed.

  他換電話號碼了。

  The area code of my number has been changed to 555.

  我號碼的區(qū)號已改為555。

  2.實用對話

  Telephone Connection Difficulties線路連接不暢

  Doris: You're late.

  桃瑞絲:你遲到了。

  Leo: I'm sorry. It was too cold and my car couldn't start. I had to warm it up in the garage with a heater. I tried to call you, but couldn't get a connection.

  利奧:抱歉。天氣太冷了,我的車發(fā)動不起來。我不得不在車庫里用加熱器給車加熱。我試過給我打電話,但是接不通。

  Doris: Couldn't get a connection?

  Leo: Yes. Your number is out of service.

  3.詳細(xì)解說

  1.“warm sth./sb. up”的意思是“加熱,使暖和,使變暖”。例如:Come inside and have a drink. It'll warm you up.(進(jìn)來喝一杯,暖和暖和。)另外,“warm up”也可以作不及物動詞詞組,表示“變熱,變暖”,例如:With the fire on, the room should soon warm up.(生了火,房間應(yīng)該馬上就會變暖和的。)Once the weather warms up, you can move the plants outdoors.(天氣一變暖,你就可以把這些盆栽植物搬到屋外了。)

  2.“get a connection”相當(dāng)于“get connected”,意為“(電話)接通”。“connection”表示“(電話)接通”時,用作可數(shù)名詞。例如:Sorry,could you repeat that? This is a very bad connection.(對不起,你能再說一遍嗎?電話不太通暢了。)其動詞形式“connect”也可表示“接通(電話) ”,例如: Could you connect me with/to a number in Paris. please?I can't seem to get through.(你能幫我接通一個電話到巴黎嗎?我好像撥不通。)Please hold the line.I'm trying to connect you.(請稍等,我試著幫你接通。)
