Episode seven : Guest issues one
Patrick and Alma are at Alma's apartment, talking over a draft of the engine bearer.
Patrick: You look like a basket case [俚: 完全沒有希望的人.]
Alma: I'm not surprised.
Patrick: What's the problem?
Alma: My brother in-law just dropped in from the states.
Patrick: Yeah, and?
Alma: I decided to put him up while he's here, big mistake!
Patrick: Why?
Alma: He's lazy. I tryed being a good host, but if you give him an inch, he'll take a mile.
Patrick: I guess you think twice next time he comes.
Alma: You can say that again.
Patrick: So how long has he here for?
Alma: Two weeks. If he thinks I'll put up with his attitude that long he's got another thing coming.
Patrick: Well, I know you do the right thing.
Nick and Paul meet at the local pub.
Nick: Hi Paul. How are you, friend.
Paul: Not good. My cousin is driving me up the wall [drive sb. up the wall: 使某人十分煩惱].
Nick: How so?
Paul: He stays up untill all hours of the night, and he never lifts a finger to help.
Nick: Have you talk to him about it?
Paul: Not yet, but I have to soon. He's eating me out of house and home. I caught him reading the fridge again last night
Nick: Hahaha, Maybe that will help you lose weight.
Paul: This is no larghing matter, Nick.
Nick: Sorry Paul. I couldn't help it. So why doesn't he give you a hand?
Paul: He watchs the tob too much. Now really I don't know. But I can't handle this much longer.
Nick: Well, talk to him, and let me know what happens, OK?
