1.基本用法:表示過去某一時(shí)間將要發(fā)生的動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)
He told us he would help us.他告訴我們他會(huì)幫助我們。
I knew you would agree.我當(dāng)時(shí)就知道你會(huì)同意的。
【提示】 過去將來時(shí)主要用于賓語從句中。
2.過去將來時(shí)的表示形式
(1)should/would do表示“將要做某事”
He told me that I should succeed.他說我會(huì)成功。
I told him I would see him off at the station.我跟他說,我會(huì)到車站去給他送行。
(2)was/were+going to do表示“準(zhǔn)備、計(jì)劃做某事,或?qū)⒁l(fā)生某事”
They were going to have a meeting.他們?cè)?jīng)打算開個(gè)會(huì)。
I thought it was going to rain.那時(shí)我以為要下雨了。
(3)was/were to do表示“計(jì)劃,打算做某事”
He was to meet her at 10 on the street.他約定和她10點(diǎn)鐘在街上見面。
The foreign diplomats were to see the President.外國(guó)使節(jié)將要會(huì)見總統(tǒng)。
【提示】 “was/were to have done”表示過去沒有完成的動(dòng)作。
We were to have left at 6 last night.我們本來計(jì)劃昨晚6點(diǎn)離開的。
(4)was/were about to do=was/were on the point of doing表示“正要……時(shí)”
He was about to leave when we came in.我們進(jìn)來時(shí),他正要?jiǎng)由怼?/p>
He was on the point of leaving when we came in.
I was about to go to bed when he came to see me.我正要睡覺,他來看我了。
I was on the point of going to bed when He came to see me.
(5)go,come,leave,begin/start,take off等用過去進(jìn)行時(shí)代替過去將來時(shí)
A lot of people were coming to watch the fireworks.有許多人要來觀看焰火。
She told mother that she was going to a dance with Tom.
她告訴母親,她要和湯姆一起去參加一個(gè)舞會(huì)。
