散文：TheCrab螃蟹-李大釗

The Crab螃蟹魯迅Lu Xun老螃蟹覺(jué)得不安了，覺(jué)得全身太硬了(1)，自己知道要蛻殼(2)了。

An old crab grew restless. Finding himself stiff all over, he knew it was time for him to moult his shell.他跑來(lái)跑去的尋。他想尋一個(gè)窟穴，躲了身子，將石子堵了穴口，隱隱的蛻殼。他知道外面蛻殼(3)是危險(xiǎn)的。身子還軟(4)，要被別的螃蟹吃去的。這并非空害怕，他實(shí)在親眼見(jiàn)過(guò)。

He dashed here and there in search of a cave to hide. He was going to block up the mouth of cave so that he could moult in secret. He knew it would be very dangerous to shed his shell in the open because, with his new shell still being soft, he might be eaten up by other crabs. This fear was not groundless for he himself had really seen it happen to other moulting crabs.他慌‘慌張張的走。

The old crab kept moving about in a hurry.旁邊的螃蟹(5)問(wèn)他說(shuō):“老兄，你何以這般慌?”

A nearby crab asked, "Hey, brother, what's the rush?"他說(shuō):“我要蛻殼了。

"I am going to moult," answered the old crab“就在這里蛻不是很好么?我還要幫你呢。

. "Wouldn't it be all right to moult right here? I could help you out with it."“那可太怕人了。

"How horrible that would be!”“你不怕窟穴里的別的東西，卻怕我們同種么?”

"You mean while you'll not scared of other things in the cave you're scared of your own kind?"“我不是怕同種。

"No, I'm not scared of my own kind."“那是怕什么呢?”

"Then what are you scared of?"“就怕你要吃掉我(6)

"Nothing but being eaten up by you."翻譯解析：《螃蟹》是近年發(fā)現(xiàn)的魯迅佚文。文章發(fā)表于1919年8月間，時(shí)值五四運(yùn)動(dòng)方興未艾，作 者通過(guò)寓言故事，提醒人們新生事物往往有被舊事物消滅于萌芽狀態(tài)的危險(xiǎn)。(1)“覺(jué)得全身太硬了”譯為Finding himself stiff al over，其中all over意即“全身”或“渾身”，作狀語(yǔ)短語(yǔ)用。如逐字譯為finding his whole body stiff并無(wú)不可，但語(yǔ)言稍欠地道。(2)“蛻殼”譯為to moult his shell，其中to moult為專(zhuān)用語(yǔ)，意同to cast off.(3)“外面蛻殼’，中的“外面”意即“在露天”，故譯為(to moult) in the open，以代替 to moult outside the cave。(4)“身子還軟”意即“蛻去舊殼后新殼還軟”，故譯為with his new shell still being soft.按字面直譯為with his body still being soft則欠確切，因“身子”在此指“新殼”，不泛指“軀體”。(5)“旁邊的螃蟹”譯為A nearby crab比A crab beside him靈活。(6)“就怕你要吃掉我”譯為Nothing but being eaten up by you，乃I'm scared of nothing but being eaten up by you之略。
