奧運奇葩事：美國“重跑”進決賽

在當?shù)貢r間周四上午舉行的里約奧運會女子4x100米預賽中，美國隊二、三棒費利克斯和加德納傳接時發(fā)生失誤，導致成績無效。隨后，美國田徑隊上訴，稱費利克斯準備交接棒時，旁邊一位巴西選手碰了她。

賽會通過慢鏡頭回放，認定美國隊的申訴有效，于是美國隊獲得在相同跑道，單獨重賽的機會。

最終，美國隊以41.77秒的成績，擠掉之前排名第八的中國隊晉級。中國隊兩次申訴都被駁回。

In one of the strangest sights ever seen on an Olympic race track, the U.S. women's 4x100 relay team were given a second shot at qualifying in Rio after dropping their baton in their earlier qualifying heat on Thursday.

當?shù)貢r間周四，奧運會徑賽跑道上出現(xiàn)了史上最奇特的一幕，美國4X100米接力隊在預賽中接力棒掉落后，又得到了第二次比賽的機會。

Team USA petitioned for a re-run after Allyson Felix claimed a Brazilian sprinter elbowed her as she was making a baton pass to teammate English Gardner on the third leg.

美國隊在賽后申訴要求重跑，因為隊員Allyson Felix聲稱她與第三棒的隊友English Gardner交接棒時被巴西隊的一名選手肘部撞到。

The IAAF sided with the Americans, and just after 7pm the four athletes wandered back out onto the race track to re-take their positions.

國際田聯(lián)支持了美國隊的申訴，晚上7點后，美國隊的四名選手回到跑道上各就各位。

They were the only athletes on the track at the time, making it a truly bizarre sight.

當時跑道上只有她們四位，看上去真的很奇怪。

In the end, the team won comfortably with a time of 41.77.

最終，她們憑借41.77秒的成績輕松進入決賽。

“重跑”最簡單的說法就是re-run，在這里也可以說get a second chance to race或者get a second shot。

火炬“接力”、“接力”比賽都用relay來表示，“接力棒”就是baton，比賽中“交接棒”為baton pass，“與...交接棒”就是make baton pass to someone。

在現(xiàn)場有裁判的比賽中，如果對其判罰不滿，可以提出“挑戰(zhàn)”(challenge referee's decisions);而徑賽類項目如果在比賽過程中受到干擾而影響比賽成績，可以在賽后進行“申訴”(petition)，由該項目的專業(yè)聯(lián)合會調(diào)查后做出裁決。

這里既然說到了“重跑”，我們就順便說一說“搶跑”。

False start原是“起步失誤”的意思，在賽跑中指“起跑犯規(guī)”，也就是我們通常所說的 “搶跑”，在游泳比賽中，自然就是“搶跳”的意思了。另外，to jump the gun也是“搶跑、搶跳”的意思，也就是說，搶在發(fā)令槍前面了，例如：He was disqualified from the race for jumping the gun.(他因為搶跑而被取消了參賽資格。)
