記者近日調(diào)查發(fā)現(xiàn),國務院關(guān)于職工探親待遇的規(guī)定“名存實亡”,很多人“聽都沒聽過”。
Since 1981, a regulation of the State Council has granted domestic workers paid leave to visit their families once a year if they live far from parents or spouse. However, some enterprises simply ignore the right of workers to paid leave, the family reunion leave included.
自1981年起,國務院規(guī)定,如果職工父母或配偶居住較遠,職工每年可以享受一次帶薪探親假。然而,部分企業(yè)直接無視職工帶薪休假的權(quán)益,其中包括探親假。
“探親假”可以用family reunion leave表示,休假事由是,與配偶或父母不住在一起,又不能在公休假日(public holidays)團聚。Reunion表示團圓、重逢,如全家團圓(family reunion),團圓飯(family reunion dinner)。Leave作名詞可表示休假,如帶薪休假(paid leave),病假(sick leave),產(chǎn)假(maternity leave),育嬰假(parental leave)。
在現(xiàn)實生活中,休探親假沒那么容易。一份報告顯示,很多人“聽都沒聽過”(have never heard of)探親假。部分雇主認為,探親假太長,工作可能做不完(might hurt productivity)。很多員工因為擔心丟飯碗(fear losing their jobs)而不敢請假(dare not ask for the leave)探親。專家呼吁加強監(jiān)管(call for better supervision)以保障職工合法權(quán)益(protect workers' legal rights)。
