大家好，笨小孩廣播學(xué)口語準(zhǔn)時與大家相約，Andy 送上最誠摯的問候, good day, everyone !今天我們來學(xué)習(xí)的兩個俚語是He is as rich as Croesus和It is over the top.

(過渡音樂)

我們先來看第一句俚語He is as rich as Croesus . Croesus是公元前六世紀(jì)小亞細亞呂底亞國極富的國王，rich是“富有”， as rich as Croesus,像Croesus一樣富有，那就 是“極富有的”。 He is as rich as Croesus，就是“他極其富有”。

阿蕊總想嫁個有錢人，她向往那種揮金如土的生活，正巧一次晚宴上她結(jié)識了一位公認的 “鉆石王老五”，大家都說：“He is as rich as Croesus。(他極其富有。)”

阿蕊開始接近他，并成了他的情人，可過了一段時間，她向朋友訴苦說：“I thought he was as rich as Croesus, but later I found that was not the case.(我以為他很有錢，但后來發(fā)現(xiàn)情況并非如此。)”

(過渡音樂)

下面我們來看第二句話It is over the top .Top是“頂端，頂部”，over the top,在頂端上面，那就是過了頭了，它的意思就是“過火或過頭”。 It is over the top，就是 “這太過分了。”

阿華和阿波一起去看電影，看完后兩個人都覺得拍得不好。阿華說：“The film’s violent ending is completely over the top.(影片結(jié)尾的暴力場面太過分了。)” 阿波也認為很過分，并說：“And I think the hero tends to go over the top.(而且我認為主角的表演很過火。)”

大家做事一定要掌握一個度，過猶不及嘛。
