A: A friend of mine is now in the big house. He was caught red-handed for selling cocaine.

我的一個(gè)朋友現(xiàn)在在監(jiān)獄里，他出售可卡因給人當(dāng)場(chǎng)抓住。

B: That is a deadly risky business. He should have it coming on him.

這買賣可是風(fēng)險(xiǎn)很大的。他是罪有因得。

A: He must be regretting about having done the business.

他現(xiàn)在一定后悔干了這一行。

B:I bet he is. He domed his own life.

他肯定后悔，他這輩子毀了。

詞海拾貝：

1. a big house：州或聯(lián)邦監(jiān)獄，罪犯教養(yǎng)所

Eg. At the thought of being sent to a big house, he shook with fear.

他一想到被送進(jìn)監(jiān)獄，就嚇得發(fā)抖。

Eg. If you go on like this you will be put into a big house.

你這樣下去會(huì)進(jìn)監(jiān)獄的。

Eg. The prisoners were taken to another big house under escort.

囚犯?jìng)儽蛔o(hù)送到另一個(gè)監(jiān)獄。

2. be caught for：因......而被逮捕

Eg. John as caught for picking and stealing, and was dragged to the police station.

約翰因扒竊被抓住，并被扭送到派出所。

Eg. If he gets caught for shoplifting, he may fare a punishment.

如果他因?yàn)楸I竊被捕，將會(huì)受到懲罰。

3. red-handed：現(xiàn)場(chǎng)地，當(dāng)場(chǎng)地

Eg. The children were stealing apples when the farmer arrived and caught them red-handed.

孩子們?cè)谕堤O果時(shí)，農(nóng)夫來(lái)了，當(dāng)場(chǎng)捉住了他們。

Eg. The robbers were all caught red-handed by the police.

所有盜賊都被警察當(dāng)場(chǎng)抓。

4. come on：降臨，到來(lái)

Eg. Winter is coming on.

冬季來(lái)臨了。

5. have it coming on sb：罪有因得

Eg. He should have it coming on him, for the way he always talks big.

活該!誰(shuí)讓他總吹牛。

Eg. He's got beaten up? He should have it coming on him for the way he often ill-treats others.

他挨揍真是活該!誰(shuí)讓他老期負(fù)別人。

Eg. She should have it coming on her, for she's been too conceited.

那才活該呢!誰(shuí)讓她總是那么趾高氣揚(yáng)的。

6. regret about：因......后悔

Eg. Don't regret about your past as it is useless. And you should prevent the same mistake in the future.

后悔藥吃也無(wú)用，就是以后要防止再犯同樣的錯(cuò)誤。

7. doom one's own life：自毀前程
