Keep in line經(jīng)常用于部隊(duì),在軍事集訓(xùn)中keep in line是“保持隊(duì)形”的意思。保持隊(duì)形就意味著要遵守紀(jì)律,要受約束,不能隨意站著或坐著。后來,keep in line中所包含的“受約束”這層意思就被人們廣泛運(yùn)用在生活中。對(duì)話中,“You have to kept in line.”的意思就是“你需要被好好管束一下了”。
