　　Fit as a fiddle的意思是 in very good health，譯為：非常健康。這種說(shuō)法大約出現(xiàn)在1616年，有一種猜想認(rèn)為這和年邁的街頭fiddler即“提琴手”有關(guān)。他們?nèi)諒?fù)一日地在街頭演奏，非常消耗體力，為確保演奏總是連綿不斷并且充滿激情，他們必須具備充沛的體力和旺盛的精力。按照這種說(shuō)法，fit as a fiddle應(yīng)該改為fit asa fiddler才合適，但是至今還未見(jiàn)過(guò)這個(gè)用法。有趣的是，用fiddle代替fiddler的說(shuō)法還不少，如：He issecond fiddle. 它是二提琴手。
