On Making Friends

Everyone needs friends,and if you fail to make friends,you should examine yourself and see if there is something wrong with your personality.

人人都需要朋友，若你在交朋友方面總是失敗，就該反省自己，看是否你的個(gè)性有什么問(wèn)題。

May be you have social faults such as snobbishness,talkativeness and using slang etc. which drive away your new acquaintances.Whatever your social faults may be,look at them honestly and make real effort to correct them.

或許你有些在社交上應(yīng)該避諱的缺點(diǎn)，比如勢(shì)力、饒舌、說(shuō)臟話等，這些都會(huì)妨礙你結(jié)交新朋友。無(wú)論你有什么社交缺點(diǎn)，都該正視它們，盡力摒棄。

To be friendly you must feel friendly.Cheerfulness is the basis of friendliness.A cheerful people smiles.A smile is a magnet which draws people.Smile at someone and you are almost sure to get a smile in return.

要友善，你一定要給人友好的感覺(jué)：快樂(lè)是友善的基礎(chǔ)。一個(gè)快樂(lè)的人總會(huì)面帶微笑。微笑好似有吸引力的磁鐵，你對(duì)別人微笑，你也會(huì)得到他微笑的回報(bào)。

A friendly person does his best to make a stranger feel at home,wherever he happens to be.Put yourself in the other fellow's place and make them feel welcome.

無(wú)論在哪里，友善之人都會(huì)讓陌生人有居家般自在舒適的感覺(jué)，設(shè)身處地為陌生人考慮，讓他有備受歡迎的感覺(jué)。

Try to remember names.It makes your new acquaintances feel happy when you call them by their names.It gives them the feeling that they have made an impression on you and that mean something to them because you remember them.

盡量記住人名。對(duì)新認(rèn)識(shí)的朋友直呼其名會(huì)令他們很高興，他們會(huì)覺(jué)得你對(duì)他有了一定的印象，這說(shuō)明你記住了他們，這對(duì)他們很重要。

If you don't agree with other people on a certain matter,you should appear to be friendly.Don't argue,but discuss.You always lose friends if you argue too much.

若在某件事上你不能與別人達(dá)成一致意見(jiàn)，你該表現(xiàn)出友好?？梢杂懻?，但不要爭(zhēng)吵。爭(zhēng)吵過(guò)甚會(huì)使你失去朋友。

A friendly person thinks of others,and doesn't insist on his own "rights".People who refuse to consider others have few friends.

友善之人常為他人考慮，不會(huì)為自己爭(zhēng)取“權(quán)力”。不顧及別人的人，他的朋友寥寥無(wú)幾。

Finally,don't treat people only according to their social positions.Really friendly people respect everyone at all times.

最后，切勿以社會(huì)地位論人。真正的友善之人往往尊重別人。
