Waves splashed in Chris' face as his raft glided over rocks. He kept his paddle deep in the water to keep him and his crew balanced. The rapids were wild today and he didn't want any accidents. For some of his passengers, this was his first time. He didn't want anyone falling in.
The rapids continued to pick up. Chris did not like the look of things, nor did he like the look of fear on the faces behind him.
The raft was getting out of control and as they neared a fork in the river, he noticed they wereheading right to the waterfall. this is exactly where he did not want the raft to go. He told everyone to put his or her paddles in the water on the right side and lean as much as possible. One of the women screamed when she saw the falls. "Don't worry,"Chris called.
Stay to the right. Just as he hoped, with all the paddles on the side, the boat veered off and away from the falls. Chris had saved from going off the edge.
