第12單元 小雞上圖書館
A chicken walks into a library. He goes to the frontcounter and says, "Buck". The librarian thinks this isvery cute. She says, "Oh, aren't you cute. You wanta book." So, she gives the chicken a book and hegoes away.
有只小雞走進(jìn)圖書館，到服務(wù)臺(tái)叫了一聲：“呱。”圖書管理員覺(jué)得小雞好可愛(ài)，說(shuō)道：“哇，你好可愛(ài)哦，要書是嗎?”于是她拿了一本書給小雞，小雞拿了書就走了。
The next day the same chicken comes back to thelibrary. He goes to the front counter and says, "Buck, buck." The librarian is impressed.
第二天，小雞又回到圖書館，仍然跑到前面柜臺(tái)叫著：“呱、呱。”圖書管理員一副佩服不已的表情說(shuō)道：
“You already read the first book I gave you and now you want two more books. What a smartchicken you are.” And she gives the chicken two more books.
“我給你的第一本書已經(jīng)讀完了啊，現(xiàn)在居然還要再拿兩本書，好聰明的小雞哦。”她又拿兩本書給這只小雞。
The chicken returns to the library yet another day, goes up to the front counter and says, "Buck, buck, buck." The library is becoming very curious. She gives the chicken three booksand this time she follows him to see where he goes.
小雞沒(méi)過(guò)幾天又回到圖書館，直接跳上前面柜臺(tái)叫道：“呱、呱、呱。”圖書管理員很好奇，這回拿了三本給小雞后，便跟蹤它看看它要去哪里。
The chicken brings the books to the pond, where she sees a frog. He gives the books to thefrog and he says, "Read it, read it."
小雞帶著書來(lái)到池塘，圖書管理員看到那里有一只青蛙。小雞把書拿給青蛙時(shí)，青蛙說(shuō)道：“咧滴，咧滴。”
(注：buck 在這里是指小雞發(fā)出的聲音，和 book 發(fā)音相似;青蛙發(fā)出的聲音，音似英文的 read it)
