The Bellboy
旅館侍者
A traveler was standing at the desk in the lobby of aWashington hotel. He was in a hurry. He had only tenminutes to pay his bill and reach the station.Suddenly he remembered that he had forgottensomething.
一位旅客站在華盛頓一家旅館門廳的桌子旁，心急如焚。他要付賬單，又要趕到車站去，可是他只剩下10分鐘的時間了。突然，他想起忘了一件東西。
He called the bellboy and said, "Run up to Room 48and see whether I left a box on the table. Be quick, I am in a hurry."
他叫來侍者，說：“跑到48號房間，看看我是不是把一只箱子忘在桌子上了。快，我時間很緊。”
The boy ran up the stairs. Five minutes passed, and the gentleman was walking up and downimpatiently.
侍者跑上樓。5分鐘過去了，紳士不耐煩地走來走去。
At last the boy came back.
終于，侍者回來了。
"Yes, sir," he said, "yes, sir, you left it there. It's on the table."
“是的，先生。”他說，“沒錯，是忘在那里了，在桌子上。”
