Three engineers and three accountants are traveling by train to a conference.
三個(gè)工程師和三個(gè)會(huì)計(jì)一起坐火車去參加一個(gè)會(huì)議。
At the station, the three accountants each buytickets and watch as the three engineers buy only asingle ticket.
到了火車站,三個(gè)會(huì)計(jì)每人買了一張火車票,可他們注意到三個(gè)工程師只買了一張票。
"How are three people going to travel on only one ticket?" asked an accountant.
“你們?nèi)齻€(gè)人怎么能只用一張票乘車呢?”一個(gè)會(huì)計(jì)問道。
"Watch and you'll see," answers an engineer.
“你們看著吧,”一個(gè)工程師答道。
They all board the train. The accountants take their respective seats but all three engineerscram into a restroom and close the door behind them.
他們都上了火車,會(huì)計(jì)們坐到了他們各自的座位上,工程師們卻全擠起了一個(gè)洗手間并關(guān)上了門。
Shortly after the train has departed, the conductor comes around collecting tickets. He knockson the restroom door and says, "Ticket, please."
不一會(huì)兒,列車啟動(dòng)了,列車員走過來查票。他敲了敲洗手間的門,說:“請(qǐng)出示車票。”
The door opens just a crack and a single arm emerges with a ticket in hand. The conductortakes it and moves on.
門打開了一條縫,一只手拿著車票伸了出來。列車員檢了票,就走開了。
The accountants saw this and agreed it was quite a clever idea. So after the conference, theaccountants decide to copy the engineers on the reture trip and save some money.
會(huì)計(jì)們看后覺得這真是個(gè)好辦法。于是會(huì)后他們決定在回程的火車上照樣做,好省下些錢。
When they get to the station, they buy a single ticket for the return trip. To theirastonishment, the engineers don't buy a ticket at all.
到火車站后,三個(gè)會(huì)計(jì)買了一張票??勺屗麄兂泽@的是,這回工程師們根本連一張票也沒買。
"How are you going to travel without a ticket?" says one perplexed accountant.
“你們?nèi)齻€(gè)人怎么能不用車票就乘車呢?”一個(gè)困惑不解的會(huì)計(jì)問道。
"Watch and you'll see," answers an engineer.
“你們看著吧,”一個(gè)工程師答道。
When they board the train the three accountants cram into a restroom and the threeengineers cram into another one nearby.
他們都上了火車,三個(gè)會(huì)計(jì)擠進(jìn)了一個(gè)洗手間,三個(gè)工程師擠進(jìn)了另一個(gè)。
The train departs.
火車開動(dòng)了。
Shortly afterward, one of the engineers leaves his restroom and walks over to the restroomwhere the accountants are hiding. He knocks on the door and says, "Ticket, please."
不一會(huì)兒,一個(gè)工程師走出來,走到會(huì)計(jì)們藏身的那個(gè)洗手間門口,敲了敲門,說:“請(qǐng)出示車票。”
