[00:01.31]The idea for the concert was started
[00:04.80]by two college students from London--
[00:08.73]Emma Black and John Jones.
[00:12.10]Emma and John travelled around the world
[00:14.98]for a year.During their travels,
[00:18.40]they were sad to see many poor children
[00:22.17]who could not afford to go to school.
[00:26.36]When they returned to England,
[00:28.88]they wanted to do something
[00:31.09]to help these children. They spent six months
[00:35.85]planning a charity concert
[00:38.46]and they asked many popular singers
[00:40.94]and bands to perform at the concert.
[00:46.14]Emma and John's concert was a big success.
[00:50.87]It was seen on TV and on the Internet
[00:54.88]by millions of people around the world.
[00:58.73]It set the record
[01:00.83]for having the biggest audience at a concert
[01:04.28]and it raised over 20 million dollars.
[01:08.96]Both Emma and John were amazed
[01:12.41]by the amount of money that they had raised.
[01:16.49]'We're so happy!
[01:18.76]We thought we would raise about two million,
[01:22.52]not 20 million!'Emma said.
[01:26.96]The money from the concert
[01:28.84]will be spent on food, toys,
[01:31.87]books and clothes for poor children
[01:34.90]around the world.
