Edward helped me into his car, being very careful of the wisps of silk and chiffon, the flower she'd just pinned into my elaborately styled curls, and my bulky walking cast. He ignored the angry set of my mouth.
愛(ài)德華幫我坐進(jìn)他的車(chē)?yán)铮浅Ｐ⌒牡夭蝗ヅ龅侥且皇慕z綢和薄紗，還有他剛剛插到我精心設(shè)計(jì)的卷發(fā)上的鮮花，以及我那龐大的行走糾正靴。他完全無(wú)視我唇上的怒色。
When he had me settled, he got in the driver's seat and headed back out the long, narrow drive.
當(dāng)他幫我坐好后，他坐上了駕駛座，然后把車(chē)倒出那條長(zhǎng)長(zhǎng)的狹窄的車(chē)道。
"At what point exactly are you going to tell me what's going on?" I asked grumpily. I really hated surprises. And he knew that.
“要到哪一個(gè)特別的時(shí)刻你才會(huì)告訴我接下來(lái)要發(fā)生什么事?”我暴躁地問(wèn)道。我真的討厭驚喜。而他知道。
"I'm shocked that you haven't figured it out yet." He threw a mocking smile in my direction, and my breath caught in my throat. Would I ever get used to his perfection?
“讓我震驚的是，你到現(xiàn)在還沒(méi)想出來(lái)。”他沖我投來(lái)嘲弄的一笑，我的呼吸立刻卡在了喉嚨里。我到底要到什么時(shí)候才能習(xí)慣他的完美呢?
"I did mention that you looked very nice, didn't I?" I verified.
“我沒(méi)有提到你看上去很不錯(cuò)，對(duì)吧?”我求證道。
"Yes." He grinned again. I'd never seen him dress in black before, and, with the contrast against his pale skin, his beauty was absolutely surreal. That much I couldn't deny, even if the fact that he was wearing a tuxedo made me very nervous.
“是的。”他又是咧嘴一笑。我此前從沒(méi)見(jiàn)過(guò)他穿黑色，這顏色與他蒼白的肌膚形成了巨大的反差，他的美麗完全是超凡脫俗的。我沒(méi)法否認(rèn)這一點(diǎn)，即便是他穿著一套男式無(wú)尾晚禮服這個(gè)事實(shí)也已經(jīng)讓我很不安了。
Not quite as nervous as the dress. Or the shoe. Only one shoe, as my other foot was still securely encased in plaster. But the stiletto heel, held on only by satin ribbons, certainly wasn't going to help me as I tried to hobble around.
不安不僅僅源于穿著?；蚴切?。我只穿著一只鞋子，因?yàn)槲业牧硪恢荒_依然安全地包裹在石膏里。但那僅僅用彩色緞帶纏繞起來(lái)的細(xì)細(xì)的鞋跟，顯然是不會(huì)在我蹣跚而行時(shí)有任何幫助的。
"I'm not coming over anymore if Alice is going to treat me like Guinea Pig Barbie when I do," I griped. I'd spent the better part of the day in Alice's staggeringly vast bathroom, a helpless victim as she played hairdresser and cosmetician. Whenever I fidgeted or complained, she reminded me that she didn't have any memories of being human, and asked me not to ruin her vicarious fun.
“如果愛(ài)麗絲打算像剛才那樣把我當(dāng)芭比豚鼠一樣打理的話，我就再也不會(huì)過(guò)來(lái)了。”我抱怨道。我把一天中最好的時(shí)光花在了愛(ài)麗絲那間大得驚人的浴室里，充當(dāng)她扮演發(fā)型師和美容師時(shí)那個(gè)無(wú)助的受害者。每當(dāng)我坐臥不安或是想要抱怨的時(shí)候，她都會(huì)提醒我她完全不記得她當(dāng)人類(lèi)時(shí)的事了，然后要求我不要?dú)У羲囊源娴臉?lè)趣。
