[00:00.51]12.Butterfly Insights
[00:04.00]A marvelous lesson appeared for me just now as I was exiting through the garage.
[00:10.54]As I opened the garage door, I startled a large moth, which, upon spreading its wings,
[00:17.18]displayed a bright red "tail" hidden by the motley brown wings, more a "butterfly" than a moth.
[00:25.34]It flew immediately to its perceived escape,
[00:29.48]the circle-topped window where it frantically tried to exit thru the invisible wall of closed glass.
[00:36.45]I raised the third-car garage door in hopes of aiding its escape.
[00:41.79]That caused it to fly higher and higher and become entangled in a spider web.
[00:47.77]Fearful that it would remain entangled in the web,
[00:51.04]I selected a long-handled broom to assist him escaping the tangled threads.
[00:56.27]At this, he returned to furiously pumping his wings and banging into the glass,
[01:03.70]which was, in his perspective, the pathway of escape, but remained his cage.
[01:09.72]By simply turning his focus to one side, he would have easily exited his prison.
[01:16.72]Rather, due to his intent on one direction, he remained confined, captive.
