[00:37.70]Good morning. Can you tell us what
[00:39.97]the main differences are in the way
[00:42.24]people around the world communicate?
[00:44.69]Well, one of the main differences
[00:46.88]is between cultures that express
[00:48.65]how they feel
[00:49.85]let's call them "open" cultures
[00:52.05]and others which generally try not to show
[00:54.66]their feelings
[00:55.74]let's call them "closed" cultures.
[00:58.38]People from "open" cultures generally
[01:00.71]show how they feel quite openly
[01:02.82]when they are happy,or when they are angry.
[01:05.90]"Closed" cultures avoid showing their feelings,
[01:08.85]especially in more serious situations,
[01:11.51]such as at school, university or work.
[01:15.00]People from "closed" cultures
[01:16.84]are usually quieter and seem shyer
[01:19.33]and more modest than people
[01:21.00]from "open" cultures.
