百聞不如一見(jiàn)。

Seeing is believing是一句家喻戶(hù)曉的諺語(yǔ)，其出處現(xiàn)已無(wú)法考證，是代代普通民眾長(zhǎng)期積累流傳下來(lái)的思想。這個(gè)諺語(yǔ)用一個(gè)中國(guó)的成語(yǔ)來(lái)對(duì)照就是：“眼見(jiàn)為實(shí)”，意譯過(guò)來(lái)就是：“百聞不如一見(jiàn)”。因此，當(dāng)美國(guó)人說(shuō)"Seeing is believing."時(shí)，他/她要表達(dá)的意思就是"What you see is true."、"One eyewitness is better than ten hearsays."、"A picture is worth a thousand words."。
