brainstorm是由美國(guó)創(chuàng)造學(xué)家A·F·奧斯本于1939年提出的，用以指一群人圍繞一個(gè)特定的興趣或領(lǐng)域，進(jìn)行創(chuàng)新或改善，產(chǎn)生新點(diǎn)子，提出新辦法，也就是：“集思廣益”。因此，當(dāng)美國(guó)人說(shuō)"We have to stop arguing and brainstorm."時(shí)，他/她要表達(dá)的意思就是:"We should stop debating and let's think together."、"We shouldn't argue with each other and it's time for us to discuss together."。
