舌尖上的美國(37):取消約會(huì)

　　在之前的節(jié)目中我們談到過如何進(jìn)行預(yù)約，那么今天來我們來看看如何取消或改變：
　　A:I'm calling about your appointment.Mr.Smith has to cancel all his appointments because he'sgot something urgent to attend to. (現(xiàn)在打電話是預(yù)約的事，史密斯因?yàn)橛惺绿幚聿坏貌蝗∠屑s會(huì).)
　　B:When can I go to see him? (我什么時(shí)候可以去見他呢?)
　　A:Anytime except today.Please give him a call before you come. (除了今天什么時(shí)候都行,來都給他打個(gè)電話.)
　　B:OK. (可以.)
　　Notice：當(dāng)你和別人約好做一件事情，但是后來又想取消，該怎么說呢?Scratch這個(gè)詞可以幫你的忙。Scratch在詞典里的解釋是"用指甲或是爪子去刮;涂鴉、隨手亂畫"。在口語上，scratch something便衍生為"取消"或"刪除"原來的計(jì)劃。再說得簡單一些，scratch這個(gè)用法跟我們常講的forget這個(gè)詞十分類似。例如本來約好明天要去看電影，但你臨時(shí)想取消，這時(shí)你可以說，"Let's forget it."或是換句話說"Let'sscratch the plan."
　　A:Will you be available on Saturday or Sunday?(你星期六或星期天有空嗎?)
　　B:Scratch the Saturday thing. I'll be available only on Sunday evening. (星期六我不行，我只有星期天晚上可以)
　　這句話完全就等于"Forget about Saturday. I'll be available only on Sunday evening."
　　接下來提供大家一些改變約會(huì)的常用句型：
　　變更約會(huì)日期
　　1. I’d like to cancel my appointment with Mr. Scott.我想取消和史考特先生的約會(huì)。
　　2. Something urgent has come up. Could I postpone our appointment.發(fā)生了一些急事。我倆的約會(huì)能不能延期?
　　3. May I ask you to postpone the meeting until the day after tomorrow?可以要求你將會(huì)面時(shí)間延到后天嗎?
　　4.Reschedule的用法(重新安排，另約時(shí)間)
　　I may not have enough time in the coming few months, so let's reschedule the classes later.接下來幾個(gè)月我可能沒有足夠的時(shí)間，所以關(guān)于上課我們以后另約時(shí)間吧。
　　5.一些與老外約時(shí)間和因故另約時(shí)間的英語表達(dá)
　　1) Can we meet at 5pm tomorrow at the gate of Donghua University?明天下午5點(diǎn)我們在東華大學(xué)門口碰面好嗎?
　　2) Today's appointment is cancelled due to the heavy rain.由于雨太大今天的約會(huì)取消了。
　　3) Can we postpone the meeting to 7pm as I feel sick now?我們把會(huì)議延期到晚上7點(diǎn)好嗎?我現(xiàn)在覺得不舒服。
　　4) I can take that job as I have pretty many free time slots in the evenings.我可以做那個(gè)工作因?yàn)槲椰F(xiàn)在晚上很空。
