第八章 動詞的非謂語形式 現在分詞構成復合結構

　　1.在不少動詞后可用現在分詞構成復合賓語(即作賓語補語)：

　　I saw Tom waving to me.

　　我看見湯姆向我揮手。

　　I'm sorry to keep you waiting.

　　對不起讓你久等了。

　　I heard someone entering the house.

　　我聽見有人進屋來。

　　She noticed a man behaving strangely.

　　她發(fā)現一個人行動很詭異。

　　The words immediately set us all laughing.

　　這番話立即逗得大家笑了起來。

　　He found a tree lying across the road.

　　他發(fā)現一棵樹攔在路中間。

　　I left him talking to Bob.

　　我留下他和鮑勃談話。

　　2.在see，hear，feel等動詞后，可以跟現在分詞構成的復合結構，也可以跟不帶to的不定式構成的復合結構，在表示動作完成時用不定式，在表示動作正在進行時用現在分詞，如：

　　We saw him leave the house.

　　我們看見他離開了這房子。(動作已完成)

　　We saw him standing at the door.

　　我們看見他在門口站著。(動作在進行)

　　Delighted to hear you say that.

　　很高興聽見你這樣講話。(動作完成)

　　I heard the wind blowing.

　　我聽見在刮風。(動作正在進行)

　　有時兩種結構差別不大：

　　I often heard him sing (-ing) this song.

　　我常常聽他唱這首歌。

　　He watched the sun set (-ing)behind the trees.

　　他望著太陽在樹后西沉。

　　3.這類結構也可改為被動形式：

　　We have been kept waiting for a long time.

　　他們讓我們等了很長時間。

　　He was often seen working in the fields.

　　人們常?？匆娝诘乩锔苫?。

　　She was never heard singing that song again.

　　人們再也沒有聽她唱這首歌了。

　　這時現在分詞就構成了復合謂語。

　　4.介詞后也可以跟復合賓語：

　　She listened to David playing the piano.

　　她聽大衛(wèi)彈鋼琴。

　　Thomas looked at him waiting there.

　　托馬斯瞧著他等在那里。

　　1 won't be able to go on holiday with my mother being i11.

　　我母親病了，我沒法去度假了。

　　You can't do anything here with out everybody knowing.

　　在這兒你做什么大家都會知道。
