　　Too Much Crime.

　　太多犯罪事件

　　Emma: I don't know what’s happening to the world!

　　Emma: 都不知道這個(gè)世界怎么了!

　　Lauren: What happened? Why do you look so upset?

　　Lauren:怎么了?為什么你看起來(lái)這么失落?

　　Emma: Crimes are increasing every day! What’s wrong with people?

　　Emma: 犯罪事件每天都在增長(zhǎng)!人們都怎么了?

　　Lauren: So many people live in adverse circumstances. Some people are not left with much choice.

　　Lauren:這么多人生活在惡劣的境遇中，一些人沒(méi)有太多選擇。

　　Emma: Is that it?

　　Emma: 是這樣嗎?

　　Lauren: Also, sometimes lack of good parenting leads to crimes.

　　Lauren:還有，有時(shí)候沒(méi)有得到好的來(lái)自父母的教育也會(huì)導(dǎo)致犯罪。

　　Emma: I guess people are just not ready to accept what they have, and the greed to have more leads them to illegal activities, even murder.

　　Emma: 我猜人門是因?yàn)椴荒芙邮芤呀?jīng)擁有的，奢望更多，才導(dǎo)致他們?nèi)ミ`法甚至謀殺的。

　　Lauren: You know what I think? Our society should take a stand against every crime. Then things would improve!

　　Lauren:你知道我是怎么想的嗎?我們社會(huì)需要反對(duì)一切犯罪。然后犯罪率就會(huì)下降。

　　Double Check Everything.

　　Rosy: Wait! I have to go back upstairs.

　　Rosy:等一下!我不得不上樓去了。

　　Brian: Why? We’re already behind schedule.

　　Brian: 為什么?我們已經(jīng)晚了。

　　Rosy: I have to check the terrace gate.

　　Rosy:我要去檢查一下陽(yáng)臺(tái)門。

　　Brian: What’s the matter?

　　Brian: 什么事?

　　Rosy: Maybe I forgot to lock it.

　　Rosy:可能我忘記上鎖了。

　　Brian: No, you didn’t. I locked it myself before coming down.

　　Brian: 不是，你沒(méi)忘。我下來(lái)前我鎖了。

　　Rosy: Are you sure?

　　Rosy:你確定嗎?

　　Brian: Yes. I am sure.

　　Brian: 是啊，我確定。

　　Rosy: I just want to make sure the kids are safe when we aren’t around.

　　Rosy:我就想確定我們不在孩子們身邊，他們是安全的。

　　Brian: Don’t worry. I’ve checked everything. You’re just being over concerned.

　　Brian: 別擔(dān)心。我已經(jīng)將一切東西檢查過(guò)了。你過(guò)于擔(dān)心了。

　　The Fire Alarm.

　　火災(zāi)警報(bào)

　　Brian: Is this fire alarm system enough to protect the school premises from fire?

　　Brian: 火災(zāi)報(bào)警系統(tǒng)能為校舍免受火災(zāi)提供足夠的安全保障嗎?

　　Emma: Yes, it is. These fire alarms have been installed in every wing of the school. As soon as they ring, the water sprinklers will start automatically.

　　Emma: 是的，可以。學(xué)校安裝的火災(zāi)警報(bào)已經(jīng)準(zhǔn)備就緒了。只要他們一響，自動(dòng)噴水滅后裝置自動(dòng)會(huì)開啟。

　　Brian: Are there any safe exit points for students?

　　Brian: 有沒(méi)有給學(xué)生留有出口。

　　Emma: Yes. They’ll be directed to move to the north parking lot.

　　Emma: 有。他們會(huì)被引向北面的停車場(chǎng)。

　　Brian: Alright. Are the students being trained to know what to do when the alarm goes off?

　　Brian: 好，學(xué)生沒(méi)有接受過(guò)訓(xùn)練，知不知道警報(bào)拉響后，該怎么做?

　　Emma: Absolutely! Every semester we conduct fire drills so the students know what to do in case of a fire.

　　Emma: 當(dāng)然!每學(xué)期我們都會(huì)實(shí)行火災(zāi)演練，讓學(xué)生知道發(fā)生火災(zāi)后，該如何反應(yīng)。

　　Brian: That’s good!

　　Brian: 好!

　　Crime Reduction

　　降低犯罪

　　Rosy: What are you watching?

　　Rosy:你在看什么?

　　Lauren: Our mayor’s statement on the crime rate in our state.

　　Lauren: 市長(zhǎng)做的關(guān)于犯罪率的報(bào)告。

　　Rosy: What does he have to say about it?

　　Rosy:他說(shuō)了什么?

　　Lauren: He says the crime rate has substantially reduced in the last couple of years.

　　Lauren: 他說(shuō)犯罪率在過(guò)去幾十年里得到了持續(xù)降低。

　　Rosy: Really? Two crimes in one night two blocks away, and he says the crime rate is improving?

　　Rosy:真的嗎?離這兒兩街區(qū)的地方一晚上發(fā)生了兩個(gè)犯罪事件，他還說(shuō)犯罪率下降了?

　　Lauren: Maybe he’s talking about his own neighborhood.

　　Lauren: 可能他說(shuō)的是他們家周邊。
