Life with kids can be a mess,

With kids to wake and shake and dress,

Because of lunches thrown on the floors.

You always plan your time for you,

To read a book or watch the news,

But seldom is it ever true.

And just when you might think you're done,

We all come home and need a snack,

Or need a ride or need a chat,

Or cry or laugh or this or that.

You somehow manage every task,

And travel like a garden gnome,

And still you always ask my dad,

"How was your day?" when he comes home.

My mother's work is never done.
