一頓便宜的飯

A man went into a restaurant and sat down at one ofthe tables.

一個(gè)男人走近一家餐廳在一張桌前坐下來(lái)。

A waiter went up to him and gave him the menu.

一個(gè)服務(wù)員走過(guò)來(lái)，把菜單地給了他。

The man read it carefully,

這個(gè)人仔細(xì)地看著，

then ordered all of the most expensive dishes.

然后點(diǎn)了所有最貴的菜。

The waiter served the meal and the man ate it with great enjoyment.

服務(wù)員端來(lái)了菜，他高興地享用著。

Then a small boy came into the restaurant and sat at the man's table.

過(guò)了一會(huì)兒，一個(gè)小男孩來(lái)到餐廳，坐在這個(gè)人的桌前。

The waiter came up and said to the man,"What would your little boy like,sir"

服務(wù)員走過(guò)來(lái)問(wèn)這個(gè)人"您的小孩想要點(diǎn)什么，先生?"

"Oh,just an ice cream," the man told him.

"哦，就來(lái)個(gè)冰淇淋吧。"那人告訴他。

Then he stood up and said to the waiter,"I'm just going out to buy a newspaper."

然后那人站起來(lái)對(duì)服務(wù)員說(shuō):"我出去買一份報(bào)紙。"

He left the restau- rant.The waiter gave the boy an ice cream

他走出餐廳，服務(wù)員給男孩拿來(lái)了冰淇淋。

The boy ate it,and then stood up and walked to the door.

男孩吃完后，站起來(lái)向門口走去。

The waiter ran towards him.

服務(wù)員向他跑來(lái)，

"Excuse me,"he said,"but your father hasn't come back

"請(qǐng)?jiān)彛?quot;他說(shuō)，"你的父親還沒(méi)有回來(lái)，

and he hasn't paid for his meal or for your ice cream."

而且他還沒(méi)有為你的飯和你的冰淇淋買單。"

"I'm sorry,"the young boy said,"that has nothing to do with me."

"對(duì)不起，"小男孩說(shuō)，"這和我沒(méi)關(guān)系。"

"Oh,yes it does," the waiter said,

"哦，不，"服務(wù)員說(shuō)，

"you will stay here until your father comes back and pays his bill."

"你應(yīng)該等到你父親回來(lái)付完錢。"

"He's not my father" the boy said."I don't know who he is."

"他不是我的父親。"男孩說(shuō)，"我不知道他是誰(shuí)。"

The waiter did not understand."What do you mean?"he asked.

服務(wù)員不明白，問(wèn)道:"那你是什么意思?"

"The man came up to me in the street," the boy said.

"我在街上遇見(jiàn)這人，"男孩說(shuō)，

"He asked me if I liked ice cream.I told him I did.

他問(wèn)我是否喜歡冰淇淋。我告訴他我喜歡。

Then he told me to come into the restaurant at 2 o'clock

然后他讓我在兩點(diǎn)鐘的時(shí)候來(lái)餐廳找他，

and sit down at his table.He said he'd give me some."

坐在他的餐桌旁，他說(shuō)他會(huì)給我買一些。"
