快速區(qū)分：other,the other,others,the others, another

　　(1) 從特指與泛指來看，帶有定冠詞的 the other 和the others 表特指意義，不帶定冠詞的other和others表泛指意義。表示兩者中的“另一個(gè)”時(shí)，要用the other。

　　(2) 從單數(shù)與復(fù)數(shù)來看，帶有復(fù)數(shù)詞尾的 others和 the others 表復(fù)數(shù)意義，不帶復(fù)數(shù)詞尾的 other 和 the other 可表單數(shù)意義也可表復(fù)數(shù)意義，主要看它所修飾或指代的名詞是單數(shù)還是復(fù)數(shù)。

　　(3) another 只表示單數(shù)意義，意思是“另外一個(gè)”;若用于修飾復(fù)數(shù)名詞，則復(fù)數(shù)名詞前必須要有數(shù)詞或few的修飾。

　　例1 To stay awake, he finished a cup of coffee and ordered _______.

　　A. the other B. other C. the others D. another

　　解析：D。another 在此表示“另一杯”，相當(dāng)于another cup of coffee。

　　例2 I’ll spend half of my holiday practicing English and _______ half learning drawing.

　　A. another B. the other C. other’s D. other

　　解析：B。由于說話者是將整個(gè)假期分為兩個(gè)half，一半用于練習(xí)英語(yǔ)，另一半用于學(xué)習(xí)繪畫。所以，表示“另一半”時(shí)用the other half。又如：Half of us are free on Tuesdays, and the other half on Thursdays. 我們一半人在周二休假，另一半人在周四休假。
