Well，you know，of course，that most people used to breaktheir boiled eggs at the larger end.But our King's grandfatheronce cut a finger while breaking his egg this way，and so hisfather the King ordered all Lilliputians，from then on，to breakthe smaller end of their eggs.People who do that are calledSmall Endians.

But Lilliputians feel strongly about this and some Big-Endians have fought angrily against thislaw.As many as eleven thousand people have been killed because they refused to break theireggs at the smaller end.Some of the Big-Endians have escaped to join our enemies inBlefuscu.

可是利力浦特人強烈反對這一點，有些大端派人憤怒地反抗這項法令。多達1.1萬人因為拒絕從小的一端打蛋而被處死。有些大端派人逃脫加入了我們在不來夫斯古的敵人一邊。

The King of Blefuscu has always wanted to defeat Lilliput in war，and now we hear that he'sprepared a large number of ships，which will attack us very soon.So you see，my friend，howmuch our King needs your help，in order to defeat his enemies.

不來夫斯古的國王早就想在戰(zhàn)爭中打敗利力浦特，而現(xiàn)在我們聽說他已經準備了大量的戰(zhàn)船，不久就要進攻我們。所以，你看，我的朋友，為了打敗他的敵人，我們的國王多么需要你的幫助。

I did not hesitate for a moment.Please tell the King，I answered warmly，that l am ready togive my life to save him or his country.
