第11章 格勒大錐和拉格奈格

Although the Laputans were kind to me，I did not want tospend a long time in their country.Therefore，I decided totravel from Balnibarbi to the island of Luggnagg，from there toJapan，and then home to England.But before I went toLuggnagg，an official I had met in Lagado persuaded me tovisit the small island of Glubbdubdrib.

盡管勒皮他人對(duì)我很和善，我并不想在這個(gè)國(guó)家呆多長(zhǎng)時(shí)間，所以我決定從巴爾尼巴比旅行到拉格奈格島，從那兒到日本，然后回到英國(guó)?？墒窃谖胰ダ衲胃褚郧拔以诶穸嘁?jiàn)到的一個(gè)官員說(shuō)服我去參觀格勒大錐小島。

You'll find it a very interesting place，he told me.Glubbdubdrib means the island ofmagicians.All the important people there are good at magic，you see.The President is the bestmagician of them all.But I must warn you，he has some very strange servants-they're allghosts!

By using magic he can order the ghost of any dead person to be his servant for twenty-fourhours，and the ghost must obey.It seemed unbelievable，but it was true.When we arrived onthe island，we were invited to the President's palace.

他可以用魔法命令任何一個(gè)死去的人的鬼魂給他當(dāng)24小時(shí)的仆人，而且鬼魂必須服從。這似乎難以置信，卻是真的。我們到達(dá)島上，被邀請(qǐng)到總統(tǒng)的宮里去。

His servants certainly looked strange to me there was a smell of death about them.When thePresident no longer needed them，he waved a hand，and they simply disappeared.

他的仆人在我看來(lái)絕對(duì)很古怪—他們有種死人的氣味。當(dāng)總統(tǒng)不再需要他們時(shí)，他一揮手他們就簡(jiǎn)單地不見(jiàn)了。
