英母女赴美參加全球頂級選美大賽 41歲母親奪冠

近日，英國索爾福德一對母女在英國選美大賽勝出后又赴美國參加全球頂級選美大賽，最終母親摘得桂冠。

A mother and daughter team are toasting their incredible success at one of the world’s top beauty pageants.

一對母女在世界頂級選美比賽中取得了不可思議的成功。

Sarah Louise Pritchard, 41, and Ella Ravenscroft, 18, were crowned Mrs Galaxy UK and Miss Teen Galaxy England earlier this year after entering the competition together for the first time.

41歲的莎拉·路易斯·普里查德和18歲的艾拉·拉芬斯克洛夫今年早些時候分別獲得了“英國銀河女士”和“英國銀河小姐”桂冠，她們第一次參加這個比賽就獲獎了。

Their win secured them a place at the 2017 Galaxy International pageant in Orlando, Florida, where they joined dozens of other beauty queens from across the world in the race for the global crown.

The pair, from Salford, flew out to the States last week as part of an 11-strong ’Team UK’ which was made up of winners from national competitions.

Sarah, who runs her own beauty salon, wowed judges who placed her first in every stage of competition, which saw her bag the title of Mrs Galaxy International 2017.

Ella was named fourth runner-up in the Miss Teen Galaxy competition.

艾拉在國際銀河小姐的比賽中排名第四。

Sarah, who is a size 16, was the first plus-sized contestant to scoop the international crown and hopes it sends a message to women that you don’t have to be skinny to be attractive.

莎拉的衣服號碼是16號，并不是很苗條，她摘得桂冠也向女性們傳遞著一條“美麗指南”——不需要非常苗條，也可以集萬千矚目于一身。

She said: ’Me and my husband Martin have six children between us, four of them girls, and I was constantly hearing them go on about their weight and how they looked.

她說：“我和我丈夫馬丁有六個孩子，其中四個都是女孩，我總是聽到她們抱怨自己的身材和外表。”

I realised that me dieting all the time and trying to lose weight wasn’t sending them the right message, they are all so beautiful and I wanted to show them this.

“我意識到，我總是在節(jié)食減肥，這樣就給她們傳遞了錯誤的信號。她們很美，而我想讓她們知道這一點。”

I decided on a whim to enter the competition and the next day I thought, "God, what have I done!"’

“我心血來潮，決定去參加選美比賽。第二天我就想：天哪，我都干了啥!”

It was really frightening the first time for Mrs Galaxy UK, I cried to my husband the night before, but when I got up there and did it and won I was so proud of myself.’

“第一次參加英國銀河女士的比賽其實挺害怕的，我在前一晚跟我丈夫哭訴，但是等我到那里并且成功了之后，我挺為我自己驕傲的。”

Sarah thought she would struggle up against women who were size 8-10 in a bikini shoot but went on to score highly with the judges.

莎拉覺得，她的對手是那些衣服號碼在8-10號之間、穿著比基尼的女人們，往往能在裁判那里得到高分。

She added: ’I won every category and was so humbled that a bigger and curvier girl had achieved this, I thought it was brilliant that it was accepted you don’t have to be the stereotypical beauty queen.’

她補充說：“我這樣一個比較胖的女人在每一類比賽里都勝出了，我覺得這是很棒的，你不用成為別人眼里所謂‘選美皇后’應該有的樣子。”

Despite missing out on the top prize, Ella, who was snapped up last year by Manchester’s Nemesis modelling agency and works with her mother, is set to fly back to the States in November to train with top beauticians.

雖然女兒艾拉此次在美國參加比賽沒有摘得桂冠，但已于去年被一家造型機構選中和母親一起工作，將于今年11月再次飛赴美國，接受頂級美容師的培訓。
