佛系又努力的“神奇動物”女主

Katherine Waterston, who plays Tina Goldstein, an employee of the Magical Congress of the US in the film series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, likes to dance.

On Nov 16, the second movie of the series, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, will hit Chinese mainland cinemas.

Waterston’s character Goldstein lives in the 1920s, so the 38-year-old US actress thought to practice a popular dance from that era: the Charleston. To dance the Charleston one needs to move the hands and feet backward and forward on the spot in a lively way.

沃特斯頓所飾演的戈德斯坦恩生活在上世紀20年代，所以這位38歲的美國女演員想到了練習當時流行的舞蹈 —— 查爾斯頓舞。在跳查爾斯頓舞時，人們會在舞池中活潑地前后搖擺手腳。

Asked by Pottermore website about whether all her roles came naturally to her, Waterston admitted that sometimes she had to make a lot of effort. She does all that she can to feel rooted in the person she wants to play. “I do something for every job that connects me to the spirit of the character,” Waterston said. “It just makes me feel a part of her.”

在接受Pottermore網(wǎng)站采訪時，她被問及是否能夠很自然地進入她的所有角色，沃特斯頓承認自己有時也需下一番苦功。為了能夠進入想扮演的角色，她做了能做的一切。“能讓我和角色的靈魂產(chǎn)生聯(lián)系的所有事情我都試了試，”沃特斯頓表示。“那讓我覺得自己成為了角色的一部分。”

It’s never easy to bring the character to life. And auditioning for the part of Goldstein was another big challenge. After her first audition Waterston didn’t think she would hear anything from the director. However, a week later Waterston got a call, which told her she had the second audition. But a little later her phone rang again. Her second audition was put o?. That made Waterston anxious, but she believed she could take it. After all, she has been in show business since her teenage years.

將角色塑造得栩栩如生從來都不是件易事。為戈德斯坦恩一角試鏡則是另一大考驗。沃特斯頓在首次試鏡結(jié)束后便覺得導演不會再聯(lián)系她了。然而一周后，沃特斯頓收到了通知她去二次試鏡的電話。但很快，她的電話再次響起，她被告知二次試鏡延期了。這令沃特斯頓感到焦慮，但她相信自己能拿下這一角色。畢竟，她十幾歲便開始闖蕩演藝圈了。

Waterston takes a philosophical view of auditions, understanding that she has little control. “You just take the best opportunity that comes your way and try your best to get the parts that are available and seem the most interesting to you,” Waterston told IndieWire.

沃特斯頓對于試鏡一直看得很開，她明白自己可控的地方并不多。“你只要抓住面前的最佳機會，盡力拿下自己最感興趣的可選角色就行了，”沃特斯頓在接受IndieWire網(wǎng)站采訪時表示。

Luckily, with the Fantastic Beasts series, things worked out for her.
