The Director And The Old Man
A Hollywood director was making a film in India. For the film, he needed to have clear blue skies, so the weather conditions were very important to him. One evening, after filming all day he saw a very old man, sitting with his legs crossed on the ground.
'It's going to rain for three days. On the fourth day, the sun will shine again,' the ancient man said wisely.
The next day it rained heavily and there was no filming that day or for three days afterwards. On the morning of the fourth day, as the old man predicted, the sun was shining down and conditions were perfect for filming. That evening, when the director was walking past, the old man said,
'There's going to be a big storm tomorrow.'
Sure, enough, the next day there was a big storm, just as the man said.
After a week of making perfect predictions, the director decided to use the old man's wisdom and pay him to work as a weather man for the film crew. The old man agreed to tell the director what the weather was likely to be. This worked very well for the next few weeks of filming. Every day the old man told the director what the weather would be the next day, and the director paid him well for the valuable information.
One day, however, the old man failed to arrive on the set. The next day the director sent for him and said,
'Your predictions are very important to me and to my work. I'm shooting a big scene tomorrow and I have to know what the weather is going to be like.'
The old man shrugged his shoulders.
'Sorry,' he said, 'I can't help you today. My radio's broken.'

導(dǎo)演與老人
一位好萊塢導(dǎo)演在印度拍電影。這個(gè)電影需要晴朗的藍(lán)天，所以天氣條件對(duì)他來(lái)說(shuō)很重要。一天晚上，他拍攝了一整天，看見(jiàn)一個(gè)老頭，盤(pán)腿坐在地上。
“要下三天雨，第四天，太陽(yáng)將再次閃耀，”老者智慧地說(shuō)。
第二天雨下得很大，那天沒(méi)有拍攝，接下來(lái)的三天也沒(méi)有。在第四天的早晨，正如老人所預(yù)言的那樣，陽(yáng)光燦爛，條件適宜拍攝。那天晚上，當(dāng)導(dǎo)演路過(guò)時(shí)，老人說(shuō)，
“明天將有一場(chǎng)大風(fēng)暴?！?br />當(dāng)然，第二天有一場(chǎng)大風(fēng)暴，就像老人說(shuō)的。
經(jīng)過(guò)一個(gè)星期的完美預(yù)測(cè)后，導(dǎo)演決定利用老人的智慧，付錢(qián)給他當(dāng)電影攝制組的氣象員。老人同意告訴導(dǎo)演天氣是怎樣的。這對(duì)未來(lái)幾周的拍攝非常有效。每天，老人告訴導(dǎo)演第二天天氣如何，導(dǎo)演為他提供了如此寶貴的信息也給了他不少錢(qián)。
然而，有一天，老人未能到達(dá)攝影場(chǎng)。第二天，導(dǎo)演派人去請(qǐng)他說(shuō)，
“你的預(yù)言對(duì)我和我的工作非常重要。我明天拍攝一個(gè)大場(chǎng)景，我必須知道天氣會(huì)是什么樣子?！?br />老人聳聳肩膀。
“對(duì)不起，”他說(shuō)，“今天我?guī)筒涣四?。我的收音機(jī)壞了?！?br />
