I didn't speak until I was over two years old, causing my mother to worry for a long time that I might be deaf. When I finally did speak it was when my parents had friends over for dinner; my first words, addressed to the person next to me, were "would you like some more cake?"
我直到兩歲多才說話，這讓我的母親擔(dān)心了很長一段時(shí)間，她覺得我可能是聾子。當(dāng)我終于開口說話的時(shí)，是我父母請朋友來吃晚飯的時(shí)候：我對我旁邊的人說的第一句話是：“你要不要再來點(diǎn)蛋糕？”
I received my first "love letter" in second grade. I corrected the spelling and grammar in red ink and returned to sender.
