起源：

這個(gè)短語(yǔ)始于美國(guó)19世紀(jì)。據(jù)說(shuō)是來(lái)源于劇場(chǎng)。在舞臺(tái)上，演員經(jīng)常會(huì)由于緊張或怯場(chǎng)而造成忘詞等尷尬的局面，只要音樂(lè)一響，演員就沒(méi)有任何選擇的余地，只能去face the music（必須承受出現(xiàn)的局面）。人們遂用face the music指承擔(dān)自己行為的后果。
