Recruitment portal 51job.com said in a survey that graduates from top universities in China are asking for higher salaries while almost half of them said they have breached contracts with employers while job hunting.
According to the survey, a total 52 percent of the graduates in best universities in 25 largest cities in China asked for salaries between 6,000 yuan, around US$952 and 8,000 yuan, 9 percent higher than last year. About 10 percent asked for salaries above 10,000 yuan, and the rest are happy with salary between 2,000 and 4,000 yuan. Forty-six percent of the respondents said they have breached contracts with employers, and 26 percent blamed employers for breaching a contract.
