headlights指的是汽車的前燈。兔子生性膽小，晚上開車時打開前車燈，如果路中間突然跑來一只兔子，那這只兔子一定會被嚇得瑟瑟發(fā)抖，以至于忘了跑走。a rabbit in the headlights引申為因為極度緊張或驚訝而無法移動或思考；因緊張而說不出話。
