　　hold back 阻止，抑制（感情），自制，抽出，隱藏

　　表示“阻止某種事情的發(fā)生”，用于阻止游行群眾，抑制感情，或猶豫不決等。另外，還可以用來保守秘密 ( Keep something secret ) 。

　　例句：

　　She could barely hold back the tears.

　　她無法忍住淚水。

　　Did he hold back information on this issue?

　　他隱瞞了這個(gè)問題的情況？

　　I didn't hold back. I named names.
