露西的一天 第62期:乘坐公共交通工具去上班(2)

I like my job but it takes over an hour to get there from my part of town. 我喜歡我的工作，但從我這邊到那里要花一個(gè)多小時(shí)。

First, I walk three blocks to the subway station and swipe my monthly pass to get through the turnstile. 首先，我要走三個(gè)街區(qū)到地鐵站，然后刷月票通過(guò)旋轉(zhuǎn)門。

I wait on the platform for the first express train. 我在站臺(tái)上等第一輛特快列車。

I get on and since it's so crowded during the morning hours, there aren't any seats and I stand, holding onto a handrail. 上車之后，因?yàn)樵绺叻鍟r(shí)段太擠了，沒(méi)有座位，我只能抓著扶手站著。

At my stop, I get off and transfer to a second train that will get me to Union Station. 到了我下車的那一站，我下車轉(zhuǎn)乘第二輛火車，去聯(lián)合車站。

This one isn't as crowded and I manage to find a seat. 這輛車沒(méi)有那么擁擠，我終于找到一個(gè)座位。

When the train gets to Union Station, I get off the train, go up the stairs, and go out of the front exit to the bus stop. 列車到達(dá)聯(lián)合車站時(shí)，我下了車，上樓梯，出了前門出口走到公共汽車站。

I get on the B bus to downtown and show my bus pass to the bus driver. 我乘B路公共汽車到市區(qū)，向巴士司機(jī)出示了公車月票。

I sit down near the front of the bus and when three more people get on board, the driver starts on the route. 我在公共汽車的前面坐了下來(lái)，這時(shí)又有三個(gè)人上車，然后司機(jī)發(fā)動(dòng)汽車上路了。

When we get close to my stop, I press the button to signal to the driver that I need to get off and the bus pulls up to the next stop. 快到我下車那一站的時(shí)候，我按下按鈕，向司機(jī)示意我需要下車，然后公交車會(huì)停到下一站。

I get off and walk half a block to the building where I work. 我下車，走了半個(gè)街區(qū)到我工作的地方。

It's a long commute, but I look around every morning and I see that I'm not the only one who has to do it. 通勤時(shí)間很長(zhǎng)，但我每天早上都環(huán)顧四周，發(fā)現(xiàn)并不是只有我自己需要這么長(zhǎng)時(shí)間。
