生人、熟人都要small talk
Small talk在北美非常普遍。即使陌生人之間，在很多情況下，也要寒暄閑聊幾句：
Strangers 陌生人
Acquaintances 熟人
Cashiers 收營員
Waiters 服務(wù)員
Coworkers 同事
Neighbors 鄰居
……
所以你需要:

#1.怎么打招呼?
最經(jīng)典:
(Good) Morning, afternoon
Good evening
注意: 前者母語者常常省略good，語氣更加輕松一些。不過后者不可以省略
最地道:
Hi there!
How is it going?
What's up?
注意: What's up?非常不正式，是年輕人喜歡的俚語。
怎么回復(fù)?
Good. 挺好的
Not bad. 不錯
So far so good. 到目前為止還不錯
什么場合用：
Anywhere
小tip: small talk一般不涉及到你生活的細(xì)節(jié)，所以如果有什么委屈事還是留給家人朋友：
Keep it positive. 只談好事。
#2.如何聊天氣?
雖然聊天氣沒新意，但的確還是最自然、最容易入手的話題!
怎么聊?
Depending on the weather, make appropriate comments: 根據(jù)當(dāng)天的天氣，聊對應(yīng)的
Nice weather 如果是好天
What nice weather we are having!
Gorgeous weather!
What a beautiful day out!
Horrible weather 如果是壞天氣
What terrible weather outside!
The weather sucks.
注意: suck這個詞不太得體的，只能和很熟悉的人說。

#3.加些小細(xì)節(jié)
除了簡單的問侯、天氣，還可以稍微深入一些：
怎么聊?
How is it going? 今天怎么樣?
How is your day going? 同上
怎么回復(fù)：
It's a busy day.
It's a slow/quiet day.
什么場合用:
In the office: 跟同事、老板
In the store: 跟商店店員
In the coffee shop：咖啡店店員
#4.最有巧思:談著裝
如果想更有新意，著裝是個不錯的話題!
怎么聊:
Nice shoes/shirt/dress!
I love your shoes/shirt/dress!
Where did you get it? 你哪里買的?
You look great today!(如果對方換了造型，這句很合適。但也要小心，因為如果對方?jīng)]什么變化，這樣說可能讓人感覺你認(rèn)為他平時很邋遢。)
You look well rest! 看起來氣色很好(一般放假、周末以后可以用)
